Mitch in Hospital Again today.

News:
Well after a long day at the hospital again.
Mitch had another blood test and they left the IV lock on just incase they needed it again saves having to poke him again. They are doing 5 tests pretty much covering everything.
We waited around for over an hour for 2 of the tests to which last time came back at a count of 51 which isn't good and this time came back as a 1 which is good. So these first 2 tests have come back clear.
The 3 we are to wait till Friday to see if they develop coultures. So I am so crossing my fingers that they come back clear.

So I am sorry if I have been a little stressed and worried. That's why I haven't been around very much. But once Mitch is out of the woods and has a green light I will come back at full force again and post more.

Never Rains it Pours!

Well I've just heard from FMC last night that our dear Mitch's blood and urine tests have come back positive for some sort of bug in his blood. Have no idea what yet and we are to go back into the hospital today to do some more tests. Feels a bit scarey to me.
And Hayden has had Croop for the last few days so its been pretty full on at the moment. I have put aside my health issues to make sure my boys get what they need to get better.

So due this I have resigned from my DT position with Meant to Be. I was sad to do that but my family needs me. And I know there are other places out there in the future when things calm down again.

So I am sorry I haven't updated my blog for a while as it is due to my kids being sick for some time.

Funny Stuff

Hayden makes me laugh sometimes.
The other day he told me he was growning up. I asked him how he knew this. Now Hayden with a huge smile replies " Well Mum you see I have hair on my arms and legs now". I smiled at DH and thought you have a long way still to go but will probably be the last time you mention you have hair growning. lol!

But Hayden is just so cute with what he says.

Geisha Scrapping Star Album / Lantern

This is my current project for Rrip It Scrapbooks. This Class will be held on Saturday 3rd November from 10am - 3pm. It is a Star Album but I have added extra bits to make it look like a Chinese Lantern. I really enjoyed creating it. Hope you like.

Total Exhaustion

These last 48hours have been worrying, scared, teary and tiring. Mitch hadn't been feeling well Thursday night. He was fine during the day. He refused dinner didn't want to drink. Had a temp of 38.8 degrees so I wip out the panadol medicine to calm him down and his temp. Giving panadol children's medicine through a syring in not the easiest thing when they refuse to take it. As Mitch wont take it in a medicine cup or spoon. But perservere with the medication to get it into him. With luke warm water I wet face washers and slowly washed his face. I know its hard to fight him as he needs to be cooled slowly as took quickly or too cold can shock his system.

4hrs later his temp had climbed to 39 degrees, panadol may just holding it steady. I gave him some panadol and drink to wash it down. He guzzled too quick and it all came straight back up. DH said give him some more as he just threw it up. I said no as I don't know how much he got and don't want to OD him. I put the medicine away for now hoping that he got some.

He cuddled in our bed and DH slept in Mitch's bed. He was still burning up. His temp dropped a little after awhile but only to 38.3 I kept on dabbing his face with the face washer as much as I could till I fell asleep curled up with him.

Morning he seemed ok for a little while. But temp had gone back up to 39. Gave him some panadol and made an appointment for the GP. Poor Mitch started having very painful stomach cramps. Worse than what he ever had with Gastro up came the medicine again. He couldn't hold onto any liquid. Mean while Hayden was getting stressed because Mitch was so sick and because we'd miss out on taking him to school. I rang Mum who came over after her Doc's appointment picked up Hayden and took him to school for me.

Took Mitch to GP's put him in his big 3 wheel pram as he was too heavy for me to hold him. And he just lay there saying "I love you Mummy".

Once in the Doc checked him out, he was dehydrated and temp had crept upto 40.6 degrees. She quickly wrote me a note and rang the hospital to tell them I was on my way.

Took him straight in the ED and they took him through imediately. put him on hydralite but he refused. Tried him on apple juice and water and that seemed to stay down but eventually he started to refuse that too. They quished and prodded through 2 staffing shifts so repeating everything became tiresome. Finally they decided after no luck with fluid they gave him an IV drip to rehydrate him and take some blood and urine samples. They said its not Gastro but possibly a Blood infection or pneumococcal ( but Mitch had his vaccinations for pneumococcal - but it doesn't cover all 90 strands ). At this point I did not know the actual seriousness of either of these 2 conditions till we got home today. But the Docs of FMC covered every base they could. Chest xray and blood tests in case of pneumonia to which he had 3 months ago but this one came back clear. Both of these conditions can come from pneumonia. So it was kinda scarey. His big sad eyes his screams of being poked and prodded and holding my hand for dear life really tore at my heart. I just held him close and stroked his face till he went to sleep.

I stayed in over night at hospital with him. As I could never bring myself to leave him as it was hard enough to leave the room while he was awake as he would fret that I wouldn't come back.

Mitch had 4 big doses of antibotics to back off whatever he had and would fight off both the conditions aswell. Over night Mitch's temp came down below 37 degrees and stayed with the continual use of panadol to keep bringing it down. To now not needing it now.

He spoke the Hayden on the phone last night and Hayden told him he loved and missed him and to get better soon. Mitch said thankyou. It was so beautiful. Then this morning DH comes in with Hayden and the boys had such a huge hug for each other and Hayden sat on Mitch's bed and did some colouring in with him.

Its just amazing to see the close bond they have with each other. Hayden dotes on Mitchell ( lol most of the time ) and misses him terribly and worries greatly about Mitch when he is sick. So much so it can and has previously affected him at school.

Mitchell depends on Hayden for companionship and is shy without Hayden around sometimes. He misses Hayden while he is at school too.

I am just thankful and blessed that whatever whichever condition Mitch had I hope that its over now. That he becomes my lil' man again. And that it didn't develop too seriously as both of these conditions can be deadly.

I shed a little tear of thankfulness that I have my lil' man that he responded well to the medication and is on the mend but may take some time. I am thankful for my friends who rally behind me in thought and love over great distances that say a little prayer for me & Mitch. Who are there caring about me and my family. It helps you be that little bit stronger when you need to be.

Thankyou to all who emailed, phoned, texted, posted messages to me sending their wishes.

It has been a long 48 hours and I just held Mitch close tonight before bed and told him that I loved him so much for being so brave and that I was so proud of him. He smiled and said thankyou Mummy, don't be sad. I love you too!.

Mitch is 3 Today

Mitch

Well tonight Mitch had an absolute ball of fun. This is his nice stash of Lightning McQueen pressies etc.... He totally loves it. He also got a really nice camp sleeping bag -5 and a camp stretcher of his own too. A very lucky and spoilt boy.

Well my boy Mitch is now 3 today. My he has grown so fast, time just flies past. We are just having a close Friends and Family tonight for a little birthday. Mitch has gone nuts on Lightning McQueen stuff and will be so estatic tonight with his goodies.

He has currently gone off with my Sister Tanya and her husband Mark to the Zoo with the kids. They were originally going to go to Greenhills but then decided the Zoo. That's ok I was going to plan a trip there but maybe next year or we'll try some other place to go too.

So they took a train in to the city and then took the Popeye boat around to the Zoo entrance.

I was very touched that my sister wanted to do this with the boys. I hope they all have a great time.

Sneak Peak

A Beautiful Mind

Here is my sneak peak at my next layout. I was inspired by great friend Vicki Brunner with her Layout. I just loved the beads. This layout is different to hers but loved the stampin she did on the alphas. I stamped over stickers that were adhered to CS and then used dimensional magic over the top. I have also use a little bit of layering techniques on this one and a hand made embellishment. I also used PS7 to alter the photo to just bring out her Jacket and leave everything black and white.

You'll have to wait and see who the special Lady is. Sorry to tease but I just so loved these papers. More details about this layout soon.

Nice Things to Say and Do for a Pregnant Lady

Here are some nice comments to say to someone who is pregnant. Let me know what nice things you would've prefered people to say.

*** Only if you are positive that the person is pregnant do you ask when they are due. Best to save face than get it wrong. ***

Never touch a pregnant ladies tummy unless invited too, Many don't like it!

"When are you due? Wow, you are looking lovely"

"Pregnancy is really agreeing with you, you look great"

"Aren't you glowing today"

Comments about the way they look is always a positive way to go.
Sometime I wished I had a book to give some people that really had no tact in bringing up the subject of pregnancy only to end it on a negative note.

Nice things to do.

Open the door for them.

Offer them your seat on public transport or in a shopping mall.

All these sort of things help and make things a little easier for these women.

Hot Topic - Pregnancy Comparisons

A question that was asked to me today?
Don't you just hate it when another girl at work or friend that's pregnant is compared to you? Have you ever had someone ask when you're due to comment how big you are?

Trust me I know this all to well. I had these in both of my pregnancies with my boys. My boys were not small bubs either both were over 8lbs. But the fact was I couldn't shake the negative comments directed at me and my pregnant body. I was compared to someone with a petite body so it made me look like I had a mutant child growing inside of me with 2 heads and 6 legs or something.
I became self conscious of pregnant body. I really never thought I would get to that. I wanted to enjoy my pregnancies, not be compared or sized up to others. I hadn't had my child and I was getting compared to other mum's to be. And we wonder why we start comparing babies after that. We are lead to believe from the start that we are doing something wrong because we don't compare up to others expectations. I know this is so silly to believe, but why do we still listen to what others say that really have no right to judge?
Something to ask yourself I think about why you care about what others think or say.
I guess we are just trying to fit in, to be liked, to be asked questions or talk about baby things. To create a friend.
I thought about this a while when pregnant with Mitchell. I guess the underlying factor was to create a friend as friends talk about good things. And it doesn't matter whether you know the person well or not, we all like to be treated the same whether we are pregnant or skinny or small or big.

A person close to me asked me today. How did I cope being compared to other pregnant ladies and comments made how big I was.
Well to begin with it hurt a lot. I felt that maybe something was wrong with me or my baby to get such negative comments. It was hard to get out of the mindset of being upset and annoyed.
I had to think about shifting the hurt or anger I felt. So I came up with some comments to say back. But before I did this I had to accept myself, my size in the stage of pregnancy I was at, and believe in what my response is to the person.

Some of the things I said were of course said in the nicest possible way without being rude:

"Thankyou for noting that I have a gorgeous pregnant body, I love my body just the way it is thanks"

"At least I am healthy"

" hmmm I think its a girl"

" hmmm I think its a boy"

" I am sorry you feel that way, I love being pregnant"

" Thanks, My Doctor says I am a healthy size for my baby"

I just repeated a few of these and the person got the message that really I wasn't fazed at my size. That there was nothing wrong with my size and that I was healthy and loved my baby body.
I think the most important factor is to love your pregnant body. 'You're not a cow or a beached whale or preschool bus carrying all the kiddies. You're in fact something far more special than any of those. You're going to be a Mum whether it be the first time or 2nd, 3rd etc... you are still special. You are carrying a mircle of your love and devotion to create your own family. Let not others judge you for creating a mircle within yourself. You should be full of pride with every kick you feel.

Many generations have probably past the person that made the comment or hasn't had kids for awhile or never had any at all.
You are unique, your pregnancy and baby are unique.

Keep your chin up, I know its hard. But think of ways why you love your pregnant body and tell the person that either compared you or left the unfavourable comment. If you are fine with who you are and how your pregnancy is going no one else should matter but your own Doctor observing your pregnancy.

Take Care to all those who are pregnant and are due to have your gorgeous babies in your arms soon. Remember You are Special let no one knock you off your perch, you have a right to glow!

September Challenge Kit

This is the September Challenge Kit from Scrap With V. I thought I'd try another Layout kick start this Scrapping Mojo. I hope its working. Tomorrow I'll finish off what I've been so behind in and post off on Monday.

Products used Chipboard alphas by Wishmade, Apple Candy pp - Sweet apple. BG black rubons, MM paint - Honeydew, fancy pants big board chipboard florals, bling, ribbon, pewter frame and cardstock.

Inspiration!

I have been searching for inspiration to get my Scrappin Mojo back since being sick. I have created 2 layouts.

The first one, 'Bestfriends' I got inspiration from Kerry Murray, I totally admirer her work. And I just loved her Lily Layout. So I gave it a go by using Basic Grey - Blush - Adore & Admire. Also used the matching diecut alphas and BG Rubons. I cut out all the leaves / hearts and the flowers and layered them.

The circle around 'be' was done using Dimensional Magic and placing beads one by one around the edge. I even added a little signature embellishment to it - One of my Dragonflies.

This second Layout is for my Stamping Class at Rrip It Scrapbooks. Using watercolour crayons directly onto the stamps and using water mist to wet it, then stamped onto some cardstock. It came out great. Then with a blender pen I used to shade in certain areas, partially colouring in.

I also used some cute little vellum with vintage type pictures on it from my lovely friend Donna.

The flowers I used a template and cut them out and then folded each petal in half and flattened out. Then using a pen I curled each petal.

All I have to add is some of my own hand journalling to the page then its finished.

Both Layouts are for classes at Rrip It Scrapbooks coming up shortly. The first one comes from a sketch, to which I dressed it up a bit more. Then used the layering technique from Kerry Murray. ( thanks Kerry). I also used some BG white edge rubons.

Hope to get better soon so I can get back into the full swing of things again. Sorry if I have been slack updating the blog. Will get better as I get better.

Rip My Head Off

What a day! It's been rather busy and its been non stop since Hayden got in the car when I picked him up from school and started screaming as soon as he sat down. The type of high shrill scream combined put - on type of cry / sob. A fly zoomed past him then found ants climbing on his trousers and he was off. He wouldn't calm down enough to listen to me so had to order him out the car so I could see what the problem was. Either he had been rolling in the grass or ants had been attracted to his bag somewhere to get them on him as none were in the car till he came in.

Mitch meanwhile playing with his seatbelt got his foot somehow tangled and was beginning to cry and get louder about it. My head was already thumping with a headache from this morning but could feel it coming down into my sinus' and was starting to feel miserable. Untangled Mitch quickly to settle him down.

Anyway while out of the car I told Hayden to brush himself down and get back into the car. We drove home with him still screaming everytime a fly flew past him. There was nothing I could do till we got home and just had to turn up the music.

Once home and in the house I told Hayden to strip off his clothes and put something else on so I could sort his clothes out with the ants on them. Finally got some clothes onto him and then the boys just started chasing each other screaming around the house. Then the dobbing started. Great! So I just separated them and did some things with Mitch for a bit till a friend came over to pick up her Stampin' Up! order and chat.

I find that when someone comes over its like a switch that goes off in the kids heads and they just totally ignore me. I think I wore the Time Out Chair this afternoon.

So here I am now at 7:30pm a movie is playing " Spirit of the Cimeron" (sp) some thing like that and all is quiet. Peace has finally come maybe for an hour.

Time to try to scrap again. Bring my scrapping Mojo back before I just rip my head off. Just haven't been able to focus. And when your health is a bit up and down it all just knocks you around. So DH has decided that we'll go out tomorrow just us two and leave the kids with my Mum so we can go to the Movies to see The Bourne Ultimatium, then go out for dinner. We don't do this type of thing much and its just nice to spend time together every now and then without the boys. Then Saturday night upto Woodhouse for Scouting Leaders Reunion. So I look forward to that too.

I think I will sleep well tonight. Well try too.

Scrapping Mojo

Well my Scrapping Mojo has walked out the door but they might be from not being well. But am trying to do what I can.

I hate it when your Scrapping Mojo walks out the door. Its really hard to get it going again at the best of times let alone being sick too.

Anyway here is a card I made for Dad for Fathers Day. I used SU Spectrum ink pad, and their lovely stamps. I am happy with the outcome in the end.

Tonight I need to gather whatever strength I have to finish a swap I am lagging behind in. I feel so bad about that cos I got sick towards the end of it. Things aren't going right. So I will try to do that and put up my mum's layouts in the gallery. She's been doing so well at scrapping.

Full On Weekend

This weekend has been so full on. Doesn't help that I have not been well, so it was kind of draining by today. I worked for Dad on Friday while he and mum went to Auntie Rae's 50th Birthday up in NT. Then was greeted with Friends over for dinner. That's ok they brought dinner with them to share as I was so stuffed from work.

Saturday DH was out all day with scouting stuff to do so trying to keep the kids occupied with activities while not well was a bit of a test. Once DH came home we were off to visit some friends we haven't seen for a few weeks and have dinner at their place. So it was nice to catch up with them but time got away from us and we didn't leave their place till 1am and home by 2am. Then poor Hayden started a coughing fit that just seemed to get worse. So I spent the night in the family room on the sofabed with Hayden and Mitch with me.

Today DH MIL came over in the morning to catch up with us which was lovely as we hadn't seen her for a few weeks.

Then thought we'd go out and find Mitch a camping bed for when we go camping in October ( hope I am feeling better by then ), to Berri. The camp bed will be Mitch's Birthday present. So now both boys have one.

So we had lunch out at Macca's that was interesting. The kids have had ants in their pants all day. I just wanted to go home to bed.

Due to a previous health problem I had before I had the boys which has decided to return, sometimes stress triggers it or if I am really emotional. Oh I hate it. Hope maybe it can be sorted out soon and I'll be back to my normal self again.

This week is jam packed aswell with so much to catch up on and mojo just not working to get scrapping to my best again. Might need to do a challenge to get it working again. Or may need a break to sort myself out and get well then come back into it again.

I am working again tomorrow for Dad, but am looking for something a bit more full time for 3 days a week. Need to start thinking for the future a bit more now. So I am currently looking whats available.

Charming Child

Don't get me wrong I love my kids dearly. But they can make me laugh so much or make me cry. The latest for Mitch today. He wanted some lunch so I shared some left overs from last night since he didn't eat much last night and wanted to go to bed. So he and I had some Tuna Mornay. I thought it tasted good. I told him he needs to eat his lunch to which in turn responds ' I don't like it, It's BORING Mummy'.

Didn't know whether to be in shock for him saying it or just laugh. I've never heard him say that before. So I just smiled and said 'thanks dear' can you now go eat your lunch to make you big and strong. Oh well! My little funny for the day.

Hospitals & Mitchell Don't Mix

What a fun filled day its been today after picking Hayden up from School. It was the day for Hayden to get his plaster taken off. And he was so excited about it. So straight from School we went on to the hospital. I knew we'd be waiting a bit as we had to go through ED and wait till called. That doesn't bother me at all. But for Mitch it just wasn't good enough for him today.

Ok Mitch is normally grumpy after a little sleep and non to impressed being woken up and put into his stroller. Bugger me if I was going to make him walk in or carry him in screaming. I thought maybe put him in the stroller and he might settle back down as he was still a little sleepy. But oh no he wasn't impressed at all. Didn't want to walk or go in stroller. I was so dreading this trip into the hospital I knew it was gonna be like this. But it had to be done.

As we got closer to the ED doors Mitch started howling ( crying loudly) got to triage and they asked what's the matter looking down at Mitch. I told him ( yes a male triage nurse) it wasn't Mitch it was Hayden, we were here just to get his cast taken off.

Did all our bits and went to sit down. Mitch wanted out so I let him out to sit on my lap, then he wanted to go sit over by the toys. I said No due to being over crowded in that section. But what gets me they put the vending machines where all the toys are so you also get the kids ear bashing you for chips, lollies or chocolate. I had prepared myself before hand and brought a little chocolate with me as a reward for the boys being good and Hayden being brave with his cast being taken off. But the boys continued to squabble over who sits on my lap. Mitch telling Hayden he hates him and that he is not his brother. I have an old couple sitting across from me trying to do cross words in a magazine and 2 ladies near me with a young girl with very high temp and as white as a ghost. I just wanted to go home. I hate being in uncomfortable situations that I feel my boys are disturbing others with their constant bickering.

It's like when the boys where babies and you're out shopping and they wont stop crying. You just want to hide, your frustration is building and you just want to go to a safe place so your child wont annoy anyone. Although many Mum's would want to reach out to help you feel you have to diffuse the situation yourself.

Anyway I ended up saying no one will sit on my lap and proceeded to put Mitch into his stroller to keep him still from cracking up cos I wouldn't let him push the stroller around the waiting room at the hospital. The little girl wasn't too well sitting across from us and the triage gave her some medicine and an ice pole. Mitch pouts with his arms crossed saying That's not fair! I tried explaining to him that the little girl was sick and had some yukky medicine and for taking her medicine she got an icepole to take the taste away aswell as cool her a bit too.

Well to a almost 3 yr old he wasn't going to comprehend the reason and I knew that. But I couldn't say much more than that.

Probably 10mins later the Male triage nurse comes up behind me with 2 icepoles in his hands. Must have been watching the carry on and felt sorry. I thanked him very much for the thought and let the boys have the ice poles.

Can you imagine for then next 15mins there was peace. They were sitting still there was quiet.

Next thing I notice we're being called up. Everything goes smoothly Hayden laughs the whole time while they take the cast off as the machine tickles him.

Then as we walk out the Hospital Mitch cracks up again with icepole in each hand screaming Cold cold. I grab whats left and threw it in the bin. Now he has sticky hands as well as I do. Grrrr. Anyway he cracks up more that I've thrown it away. I'm starting to get frustrated again but quickly and calmly head to the car put the boys in the car. Rummaged around for baby wipes. Couldn't find any so drove with sticky hands home.

What a lovely end to the day. That I just said to DH you can put them to bed. I am exhausted playing referee.

Hopefully tomorrow is a better day.

Time to do some scrapping I think.

Mum Catches the Scrapping Bug

Had Mum come over today to do some scrapbooking. We worked on it together. I told her all the basics how to find paper to go with your photos. Stuff like that. We used MME Bohemia range. She had an absolute ball doing this. I let her do most of it with my for guidence and suggestions. She is now super excited and went home thrilled. So she is well and truly hooked. So we'll plan another Scrap one on one again soon for her.

Crazy Antics in the Life of Mitchell

Mitch is a kack a minute. Little copycat that's for sure.
He makes me laugh everyday.

The other week he was dragging around this white rope. ( no idea where he got it from ) Anyway he thought it would be useful to tie it up on the bed posts by the feet. ( heck knows why - Not that DH needs encouragement ). Anyway he tied it up and I forgot about it. DH didn't notice it either. Over night Mitch crawls into our bed and falls asleep. DH gets up in the morning and Mitch is still asleep. DH ends up leaving for work and I decided to get up and get ready but couldn't move Mitch. He woke up and said "My foot stuck". I thought how could that be. Till I pulled back the covers and he had tied his foot with the rope to the bed. Perhaps so no one could send him back to his own bed. lol I laughed then untied the rope and got rid of the rope. lol * shaking head, don't know where he gets it from. Must he his Dad the scout in him. lol.

Another time when Mitch got hold of the rope and tied it up on our bed again. DH tried to remove it. Mitch turns to DH with those evil eyes and replies " I told you not to touch it", DH couldn't help but crack up over that. Hurried Mitch off and got rid of the rope.

You have to be so careful what you say around your kids. They don't miss a beat I tell ya. I was telling Hayden off for something he was doing and said I was watching him and saw him do whatever it was again and then said " I am warning you". Mitch turned around looked at Hayden with evil eyes saying " Yeah I'm warning you". That was so hard to keep a straight face that I turned and covered my mouth quickly and then proceeded to tell Mitch off for copying me. But it was so funny.

Beware if you come over to my place Mitch ties everything up and he'll use whatever he can. Used his scarf the other day and tied his trike up then cracked up cos the wheels wouldn't move.

Mitch looks like the innocent little thing but he is so quiet. Its like he is on a secret sabbotage mission. Tried to make a phone call the other week. He pulled the phone plug out. No wonder it was peaceful most of the day without telemarketers ringing. lol

Crazy little thing he is. But I love him.

You're Larious Mum

So funny. Mitch is just a card. Today we went to go pick up Hayden from School and we were sitting in the car chatting about his "Cars" cars eg. Mater, McQueen etc... and he started to sing this song he must have got from Childcare. Anyway he is singing this song 'where you hiding' so I caught on and started singing too. He just burst into giggles and said " You're Larious Mum". (meaning Hilarious). I just busted into giggle myself for what came out his mouth. Cheeky little thing.

Runner Up

I entered a competition to create a Blog banner for a Scrapblog - Scrapsidaisy. These were my designs. Although I didn't come first it doesn't matter. The person Tracy who won looks to have Digi experience and I cant compete with that. She did so well and I don't have Digi experience. So I didn't win the $100 of scrap product but did come runner up with another girl Kellie and we both got $50 worth of goodies. So I look forward to that. They have a gorgeous little blog and they have just opened their shop online.

I've done a few blog banners now for friends & others and really enjoyed doing them. And everyone has liked them so far, so that's good.

Rrip It Class Layout

Had a class at Rrip It Scrapbooks that I ran. The class was based on the Bride Layout and I just did another layout as I was explaining about it. Had a good turnout and all enjoyed themselves and said it was something they never thought of with circles. So they learnt a few new things.

Did a little bit of doodling on the layout. Some journalling strips on the sides.

Something new I learnt though was I really liked a particular rubon but found it too small for my layout so I scanned it and printed it larger onto transparency and cut it out.

I thought it looked great.

So if you look onto the pink layout you might just tell the transparency. The alternative to the HS bling circles is use Kindy Glitz but be very careful not to put too much too close together around your photo as it can warp the photo and create bumps.

This is a photo of my friend Donna's daughter Vanessa. It was her first Christmas and we had christmas drinks and BBQ with friends at our place and she just looked so cute sitting on her Daddy's lap in her Santa hat.

The Big HO is printed on Transparency as well then I traced it with white gel marker and cut it out. I also used fluid chalk in pink to colour / ink the edges of the circles and the word strips.

I really enjoyed teaching this class and had great feed back for it too.

I have a few more coming up next month with some OTP, Crackling Techniques, Journalling and layout Sketching.

Rockn Girl

I am totally surprised thanks Kerry for Nominating Me as a Rockn Girl Blogger. You're an awesome girl yourself and I just love your creations. They are totally amazing. I met Kerry at the Adelaide Retreat in May this year and she's just lovely to get to know. I read Kerry's blog just about every day as she is always doing something and a new creation keeps popping up. Now to nominate some others I think Really Rock! I nominate Crissy Gaylor, Jane Logan and Mel Diener all are absolute Rockn Girls and I totally adore their work and creations. ( I know its naughty to have 3 but they totally inspire me) I find all girls to be very down to earth, beautiful people and great mothers and mother to be. Special SWV Kit

Here is a sneekpeek at the next kit I have created for SWV. Keep your eyes open for this one. It's a special one. First time I used Pizzazzill. Thanks KerryM for the inspiration to create a layout with Pizzazzill and put my own twist on it. I love it now. But you'll have to wait till its up in the shop for a full view. This one is special because of the photo I used. Lovely picture of wonderful lady on her honeymoon at Taronga Zoo when she was 20.

WindJam2007

Well today Scouts and the General public broke the Guiness World Record with the amount of kites flown at the same time. They achieved today 1127 kites down at Glenelg Beach today. Well done and what a great day. It rained in the morning but the rest of the day was great. Couldn't have asked for a better day and there was heaps of people milling up and down the precinct so a great time for all.

DH said it went extremely well. To see some photos check out Leanne's blog great shots of the day.

Reflection

Part of today was of Reflection of my friend Dani who passed away earlier this year. She was a beautiful girl and of my age. I thought I'd might try and have a look at some of the things her mother passed to me. Brought back a lot of school memories. So this afternoon I was a bit melancholy. I still can't scrap her picture yet but one day I will. For now her picture is held in my heart.
I miss her.

Guiness World Record Attempt

A Guiness World Record Attempt is in the process through Scouts Australia SA Branch and Glenelg Beach house. To attempt to hold the world record of the most amount of kites flying at any one time.

You do not need to be a scout this is for

anyone to join in.

This will be held tomorrow Saturday 18th August down at Glenelg on the foreshore near The Beach House.

Kites and extra goodies are $10 each. So come down to Glenelg SA early from 10am onwards to participate and register at this Guiness World Record Attempt. UK scouts did it last year and got 900 or so participants now it our turn to double it and put SA and Australia on the Map. Come on Aussie's! come and support us.

Lots of other fun and excitement going on down at Glenelg too so bring the family!

1. From the age of 5yrs to 18yrs I did traditional Austrian Dancing & played Austrian cowbells.

2. I married my High School Sweetheart.

3. I am fanscinated with Stone Henge. Ever since my high school did the Rock Eisteddford with it as a back drop doing Wuthering Heights, I have been intrigued to learn more.

4. I have also taken a huge interest in the Titanic. I used to watch the black & white movie about it. I was just in awe of it. I have the Updated / current version on Video and its the special Edition with all the pictures and the film strip too. I have a couple of books on it too.

5. When I was young I wanted to be an Architect or Councellor. I love drawing houses and floor plans. And love helping people.

6. I am a girly girl trapped in a male dominant family. But that's ok I love them all. I just like a bit more pink around the place lol!

7. I love cooking and having friends over for a nice meal and playing board games or cards after.

8. I am definately not a night clubber never have been. Too loud and I'm normally buggered by midnight anyway and get board there easily.

Canvas & other scrapping Layouts

I am so happy to say that the Scrap Canvas is now up and available from Scrap with V. I had some much fun doing it. This one above is the shop one I created. The one below is for PJ (Peta) who won the competition. Enjoy!

Here is the full Layout I did for my friend Kerry aswell. I used the Addison Range of Printed papers. It does look better in real life. The colours are much more vibrant than what the photo does to it.

I'll have some more photos up of my Circle Journal soon so keep a watch out. I think my scrapbooking mojo has returned after a short break and I am ready to go again. I have a monogram class at Rrip It Scrapbooks on Thursday night so that should be great too.

Did my first Stampin' Up! workshop today and had an absolute ball and have more booking in for some new techniques so I am thrilled at that.

Sneak Peak

This is a sneak peak of a layout I have done for a special friend of mine. I used the Addison Range of paper with lots of lovely flowers and bling. It looks so much better in real life. But I am really happy how it turned out. Colours are a bit aqua but they went well with the photo and papers. Hope you like sweet friend and hope it brightens your day. mwah!

Busy Week

Well it has been a busy week. The Adelaide Craft Fair was great fun, I did some Demos for Rrip It Scrapbooks and also learnt something new myself.

Hmmmm Opals wow this was really cool.

We used opals on chipboard and it looked fantastic and even put stamp impressions into the opals and it just gave it a great lift. I was awestruck by the effect of it. I'll be definately trying it again. May put together a tutorial about it and some of the things you can do with opals.

Took both boys to see Peditrician - All seems fairly good there. Mitch has a preventer now for his Asthma. Just also worked out why Mitch has been getting up at midnight for the past few weeks. He has been having bad dreams about monsters under his bed and now that Hayden has his own room, Mitch is scared. We read to Mitch and reassure him there is nothing there. Even got the air freshner out and sprayed under the bed to say the monster is gone now.

He is so dependant on Hayden that we are trying to introduce him to other things and other friends.

Met up with Kerry Murray yesterday which was really great. Went down to Mc Cafe with the kids. Had a great chat. And the kids had a great play together. Mitch was a little upset on the way home as he had a great time with Mikayla. He was calling 'my kayla, I want kayla' cute poppet he is. We'll have to do it again Kerry. I may see if I can get down and do a class at Scrap Station to see the other girls there too.

Currently working on my Circle Journal for Scrap with V. Love it! Here is a look at my sign in page. I thought doing flower tags would be something different to do instead of normal tags.

Here is a close up of the flower tag. I am so into wire at the moment that I thought I'd have a go at making the centre of the flower with wire and beads. I think it looks cool. The flowers are diecuts by K&Company and I think they are gorgeous.

I did my first Rrip It Class last week really enjoyed that. I have another class next weekon Thursday making chipboard monograms. So I am looking forward to that.

I'm running a Stampin' Up! workshop too at Mum's place on Sunday so I am looking forward to that and having a lot of fun there. We will be making little 6 x 6 scrap pages. Mum wants to learn about scrapbooking as she'd like to go to the Retreat in Qld next year with me for SWV. So excited about that.

What's Happening

Well at Scrap with V they have some great challenges going on. A Sketch Challenge by Kerry and a August winter challenge by Donna. Be sure to go over and have a look.

Also Scrap with V's first Cyber Crop will be held on the weekend of September 7. So come over and join in for the weekend, there are some great prizes too with some great challenges lined up for the weekend. Don't miss out.


Retreat - Fundraising for Kids Cancer Adelaide
Rrip It Scrapbooking - Adelaide are looking at organising a special Retreat to raise money for Kids Cancer. Location will be at Tatachilla - more details to come. But hope to have some great classes and teachers. We have our own gourmet chief onsite for all meals. A huge function room for scrapping and mingling. Accommodation is in dormatries attached to the function rooms.
Raffles, auctions, door prizes, big scrap sponsors donating products. Wines donated from surrounding wineries in SA and lovely dinner for 2 up for grabs at a prominant resturant.
There is also a night tour in the nearby park where you can meet, see and feed the animals.
Dates are coming possibly between March and May 2008. I'll let you know as details come available. At this retreat we are looking to raise as much money we can for Kids Cancer, and have a fabulous time.
Cost will be about $200-$250 for the weekend this includes meals, accomodation, goodies and some classes. Some classes maybe a gold coin donation for kids cancer foundation. How good is that.

Thankyou!

Thanks all for their lovely words, and emails. It has been a most interesting week with no room for rest. But boys are doing well. Mitch's Medication is being reduced each day and hopefully back to his normal self soon.

Hayden has his plaster for 4 weeks and is starting to get used to it.
He'll be back at school next week so we'll see how we go there. Sometimes he's a fragile soul.

I guess boys tend to break something, sometime in their life. Hopefully no more. I don't think he'll be playing on slipperydips again.

Well last night was my first teaching class at Rrip It Scrapbooks. I was a bit nervous but the ladies were lovely and calmed my nerves quickly.
We chattered and laughed it was just great. I did a doodling class with the girls and they couldn't believe how relaxing it is and just how effective it was looking. I look forward to my next one.

I have finished the Canvas for Peta now and it looks great. I'll upload it once its in the shop at Scrap with V.

I've been making some cards with my Stampin' Up! products and having fun there.
And just about to start my CJ with some great girls at Scrap with V.

So Much Happening.

It's been a full on week with Mitch not well, had another stint in hospital with an Asthma Attack.
Didn't get much sleep there.
And yesterday I had Hayden's school ring me to let me know that Hayden fell off the slippery dip at lunch time (from the top). So I picked up my distressed little man and took him to the hospital and got an xray done. He has broken his arm just above the wrist across both bones. So he has a lovely red plaster cast on his arm all the way past his elbow.
So its been a little stressing but we are getting through it.

Got my first class at Rrip It Scrapbooking at Reynella tomorrow night so that's exciting.

I will also be helping out at the Stamping & Scrapbooking craft Fair on Sunday at Morphettville Race Course and doing some demos. So that's all good. Busy but good.

Anyway I've got a lot to do today so I'll catch you all later.
