Such a Long Time

Well a lot has changed since my last post. I've become a Freelance writer doing jobs for companies around the world from article writing, product reviews, poetry and short stories. I've been really enjoying it too.

In April I was shocked to find out that I am pregnant while on the pill. So looks like no.4 is on the way. Been struggling with the thought of 4. I will be 17 weeks this Friday and will find out the sex next week.

Other than that my life has been surrounded by doing things with the family.

Sorry for the late updates but things around here have been hectic. Paddy had been put into hospital .

Docs have called what he has Bronchilitis as they can’t be 100% although it looks more like asthma.

Difference is Babies upto 12 months don’t normally respond to ventolin as it just simply does nothing.
Although saying that some babies do respond to it under 12 months. Patrick being one of those exceptions that has responded well to it.
With Bronchilitis ventolin doesn’t normally make any difference but having asthma it does help opening up the lungs.

Sunday night from midnight till morning wasn’t nice then we went straight to hospital at 8am and straight through to reasus room. Bit scary there. Took xrays
And tried 4 times to get a drip into him as they were concerned of his little body shutting down ( he was not feeding well that morning ) as he struggled to breathe.
After racing Hayden to school and Mitch to sis in laws place – Sam eventually met me at the hospital. I stayed over night with him. Waking every 2 hrs was a pain in the rear for neb and obs. So we were in hospital for almost 48 hours.

Mitchell has been unwell also. I've not had much sleep this week and I am so tired and cranky.
Going back to the Docs today with Paddy as another awful night. I'm so over all this.

I have done some kits and part way through typing the instructions so keep a look out at Abundantias Gold.

My friend Mel came out of surgery well but still doing around of chemo. She is going to be pretty out of it for awhile. She says sorry to those who have booked photo shoots with her, a back up person is contacting all her clients to make rearrangements. As she will not be working for a while. She is a very strong and brave woman I admire a lot.
She does apologise that she hasn't had the chance to check her emails as everything has been quite hectic and has not had the chance. So do be patient and she'll contact you soon I'm sure.

Well Paddy is calling me and will need to head off to the Docs shortly.
Hopefully things get back on track for me soon. I hate all this mess.

Not Good News

I've just heard from my friend Mel who owns the photography website I'm working with her. She has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She is in her low 30's its so not fair. She is in hospital and will under go some surgery to remove one breast next week and then she has a series of Chemo to go through after that. So I'm crossing my fingers for her that all goes well.

Sorry to those that have organised photo shoots with Mel but don't worry as I have stepped in to help with those shoots and another photographer has stepped in to help out also. So its business as usual dispite what is going on. So no one is left high and dry.

I'll keep you posted on how her progress is going for those that would like to know.

Sorry for neglecting my blog here. It's been rather hectic here with Mitch unwell and Patrick up all night I'd be lucky to have 2 hours sleep. Apparently sleep is for the weak according to my kids.

Otherwise I've been pulled in all directions. I've been working for my friend Mel from Lanie photography as she is very sick at the moment. So keeping up with that and the kids plus trying to fit in a bit of scrapping and writing is rather challenging.

I've now set up my writing blog too. That will have sneak peeks of my work, information about writing, writing groups / circles, tips, and competition writing, places where you can submit your work. I work on my writing when I can't scrap as normally I have an 8 month old on my lap into everything. I'm trying to create some balance. I've been using a pen name mainly because of my last name and the connotations that go with it. So I become Lea Bristow when I write. It's very exciting and I've a few things in the pipeline that are finished - a few short stories.

I'm glad I've finally finished story - Essence of a Mother.

Just cleaning it up then refining it and possibly submit it as a short piece.

Weekend Away

It's been great to have a weekend away with friends. Went down to Mannum and stayed at a friends shack which is a more like a holiday house. Had a beautiful warm fire place. Kids had an awesome time.

Hope to go away in October to Halls Gap with friends for a week. So looking forward to that.

Still doing a little bit of writing when I can. It's slowed down at the moment due to Sam and Patrick not being well and Patrick teething.

Sam going away next week for a week. Work trip again. So I hope to get stuck into some scrapbooking then so I can at least stay up and get things done for my next kits for Abundantias Gold. It takes me a bit to get into the zone to scrap sometimes and once I'm there I don't stop.
Got some awesome ideas for my next kit they are boy zone kits. So if you are stumped on boy layouts I have 2 coming up soon.

What a night

Golly what a night. Paddy is teething has one top tooth down and another on the way. Plus I don't think he is well all snotty and phlemy poor little guy so sleep hasn't been so good.
SIL says sleep is for the weak - just ask her boys. LOL hope Paddy doesn't follow suit at this stage. DH is coming down with something and so is Mitch. Yay a whole house full soon.

Not much going on then around here but looking after the sick.

I am craving some scrapping time but I don't think that is going to happen just yet.

Yeah I'm still around. Schools back thank goodness. The boys get so rowdy when stuck at home.
Mitch is back at Kindy and loving it. This will be his last term before starting school next term.
Patrick is teething so I'm not sure if that's good or bad at the moment as he finally has a tooth coming down but the night routines are just out the window.

DH is really busy and been working a lot so trips here and there are still happening. It makes things tricky at times with the boys. But we are getting by.

There are some exciting things happening in the background at the moment but are under wraps for now. But I do hope to reveal things soon.

Just another day!

Well this morning was nice after a coffee and chat with another mum. Then grocery shopping. So busy. Patrick is now in a foul mood. DH is out at a meeting tonight. So hoping with some luck and maybe a miracle that I can get some scrapping done.

Mitch is a lot better now from his asthma issues and Patrick is better and over his bronchiolitis so hoping to get back into the normal swing of things.

Been thrown off course of late with everything happening. I hope to have some more scrapping sneak peeks soon too.

Other than that Patrick is saying da da da and trying to sit up more too.
He is 7 months old time going too fast.

Caught the writing bug!

After reading some of my SIL's stories she has totally inspired me to write about something that I've had bottled up for so long. The story I'm writing is part true in some areas with a fictional twist to it. So if you know how much I enjoy authors Anne Rice and Stephenie Meyers you can probably figure out part of the twist.

Its about a 16year old girl called Inara who has just moved schools leaving behind her boyfriend and long time friends. After a long settling in period at the new school she realises the move wasn't so bad afterall and begins to open up her heart once more. As the new girl she has a few welcome and unwelcome attention that leads her into hot water after a night out at the carnival. Inara goes through many ups and downs as most teenagers do and exploring her sexuality and what love really is about. She is a typical teenage girl and boys are apart of school life, so when she falls for Logan a gorgeously tall well groomed boy at school she never knew that life would take on a new meaning - Forever Young!

I'm just part way through the first chapter so stay tuned.

Here are some lovely sketches I think they are from Smilebox digi website that just happen to have caught my eye and will be interested in coverting them to proper scrapping layout.

This one would look great for a wedding or silver wedding anniversary, engagement or maybe a precious moment - something like that.

This next one is gorgeous very country or shabby chic that lends itself to the

use of haberdashery lovely for heritage photo or girly photo.

What a week!

Oh Gosh what a wave of emotions it has been this week. I was supposed to go away with Lanie to help with Wedding photography but it all fell through and the wedding got postponed. The groom got rushed to hospital. So went Camping at a scout radio event to which was up in the air for me going as Mitch had asthma and croup - thankfully he got better but Patrick got really sick with bronchiolitis. So we have spent a few days in and out of hospital. I remember when Hayden had this and it wasn't very nice.
It is also contagious for under 2 year olds so I've been isolating myself at home as much as possible. He still isn't the best with mainly night time still being the worst but occasional day time coughing that makes him cry because it hurts.

Next week I have a meeting with a Cristina Re rep to take on board some of their products for Nes Mitchden designs.

Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be able to put up some more scrapping sketches from some of my favourite sites. ( Hi Sharron H )

Must go more house cleaning to do.

A New Day

Just another day of getting over thr lurggies that come with sharing family germs. Patrick seems much better sleeping a few more hours at night again was in bed at 8:30pm woke between 2 - 3amish. At least an improvement of what it has been around 12 - 1 am. He had his imms yesterday, was not impressed at all. Gosh 6 months already time is flying by.

Currenty working on some sketches for scrap kits for Abundantias, been a bit behind the 8 ball with unwell kids.

Going Camping this weekend so hoping Mitch improves more before we go.

Got a new tent so am eager to try it out. And the one luxury we bring is a heater mainly for Mitch's benefit and Patrick but its one cozy thing that makes campingbareable at night.

Started finding some time again to read, been reading the Stephenie Meyer's books already read Twilight and now reading New Moon. Really enjoying them.

Ups & Downs

Last few weeks has been a bit up and down. My husband has been away for work for a week and Patrick, Mitch and I have been unwell. Mitch's asthma has been really playing up that he sleeps in the lounge room so I can hear him if he has a problem so I can get to him quickly if need be. So trying to juggle a few things has been difficult and its been really doing my head in.

My husband leaves again for work trip in a weeks time to be away for 2 weeks so not looking forward to that.

With all that's going on I guess I've just been feeling a bit down. And the flack that I've been getting from 2 people I thought would support me most for breastfeeding for as long as possible has been disappointing.

Sometimes I wish I could just pour my heart out just to get things off my chest.
I feel that some people just abuse my friendship I've been burnt too many times and repeatedly.
It makes it very hard to trust or to let anyone close.

Scrapping Mood

Well I haven't scrapped for a few weeks due to a lot going on in May. But hope to tonight. Although the house is a bit upside down as per the norm. Patrick is peacefully sleeping since 12pm woo hoo its 3pm now. I'm sure he'll wake soon.

I am really thrilled that my first kit at Abundantias Gold is going well. - Well hopefully going out the door lol...

I have a few interesting concepts going in my next 2 layouts that hope to be ready for June.

I'm normally in a scrapping mood at night but my husband seems to be able to draw me into the series he is watching on TV - 24 - I really like the series and Kiefer Sutherland (Jack) is great in them. So its been hard trying to tear me away but its also nice to spend that time with Hubby too. So when he is due to go away again for work then I'll be onto scrapping in a big way during that time. Then I can catch up on things then too.

I've also done a sample on Heidi Swapp invisiables of different mediums used to give people some ideas on how they could use it in their creations. Its in store at Abundantias if you want a look.

Once I've done my layouts I'll be sure to put some sneak peeks on here till its on show at the shop.

Well time is running away from me at the moment and I have to tidy up the house a little before some guests arrive for a meeting. And hopefully before Patrick wakes up.

Christening went well and was just lovely to have friends and family around.

Our household not well at the moment with Patrick coughing, Mitch coughing and conjunctivitis and me with a very saw throat. Its horrible and hope to get over it quickly.

He is just so adorable, very huggable and squishy. He is 5 months next Tuesday. I've just received my fluffy mail - modern cloth nappies that feel like velvet. They look great on him. Got them from Baby Beehinds.

A New Position - part-time DT

Well after stumbling across a local Scrapbook Shop near by and after having a great chat with Simone, I've accepted a Design Team position with her shop Abundantias Gold (based in Adelaide). I'm excited about it and will be starting really slowly as I need to work around my family and young Patrick.

But I'm just doing Layout Kits for the shop. So you'll have to see my current layout in store shortly.

Maybe later in the year I might get back into teaching too.

My Lil Man

This is the latest picture of my little man. He is just gorgeous. He is approximately 4 months in this photo. He is growing too fast but his smiles are just heart melting. He loves to laugh now and adores his brothers as they make him laugh. I look forward to scrapbooking more pictures of him. His length is growing quite quickly already 65cms. I think he'll be a very tall boy when he grows up.

My Little Boy is 4 months old.

Wow is time flying. He is 4 months old now. Has his imms Monday - not looking forward to that.
Patrick is now becoming a cute little bubs by filling out now. He still low in weight but getting there. In comparison to what he was born 4.95kg he is only 5.7kg now. He's not losing weight but just gaining slowly. Had a few bouts of the colds and cough. Poor little guy is now cutting 4 teeth shortly as they aren't far from erupting. No wonder he has been screaming so bad.

Starting to organise Patrick's Baptism invitations etc... and the details that go with it.

Trying to get back into scrapbooking. I have some CM albums to do of the boys so will have to get cracking on that and print off some photos of that.

Life is Busy

Busy but happy. So much been happening in the last few weeks. Been to tupperware parties, creactive memories demonstrations, learning ladder gatherings all are good and can't wait for my goodies to arrive. Something about getting things remotivates and gives you the warm and fuzzies.

Patrick is 14 weeks today time is flying by. Mitch been a little unwell with his asthma but hopefully its settles soon.

Today's Rambles

This morning Hayden had Kanga Cricket and he did very well.

Bowled one person out and ran out another. His school played against another school that his friend from Joey Scouts Josh goes to. So it was a bit ironic that both Hayden and Josh where playing against each other and they are great friends at Joeys.

Anyway both teams did very well and had lots of fun. This was Hayden's 2nd Game and they won today. Last week they lost but the team they played was very good. Hayden didn't mind losing as he just had great fun and that's all that mattered.

So buggered today and sleepy. Patrick hasn't been well so was up a few times during the night with him coughing. And then the early rise this morning to take all 3 kids with my by myself to Cricket. And if you know what Mitch is like hurry is not in his vocabulary. Sam (DH) was getting ready to go out to do some scouting stuff for most of the day. So highly strung today that its difficult to get any housework done today. I'm just exhausted already.

Would really like to do some scrapbooking today but don't know if I'm in the right mood for it. Would love to curl up and go to sleep.

Making a new commitment to myself today that I'm going to lose some weight and get rid of the excess after baby belly. But just have to take small steps as I'm still BF.
Looking into some cloth nappies saw some really cool ones on Baby Beehinds. Aren't they gorgeous.

Good ol' Sister in Law - Kelly put me onto these. They look and feel fantastic. So I'll give these a go. Wish I knew when I had Hayden what I know now. So much would've been different. Even if I knew half the stuff that I know now when I had Mitch would've been good too. Its all well in hindsight but I can still make a bit of a difference now even if Patrick is my last bubs.

On A Lighter Note

Patrick giggled for the first time yesterday evening while asleep in my arms it was so so cute it made me laugh.

Had a bit of concern Friday when a scrub fire broke out near where we live and was fairly close to Hayden's school to which parents could see lots of smoke and some flames. It went through 15 hectares in 1.5hours. You could hear the aerial water bombers in the sky and 3 fire units race past the school. Two streets had to be evacuated for precaution measures only. I just can't believe how close it was and it really hit home. Poor Hayden had a nightmare about fire last night he was in histerics. I think with everything on the news and then so close to home and school it just got too much for Hayden. But he is ok now after I showed him our fire alarms and said that the fire would've never got to our house as there are lots of houses in between. Even though its less than 1km from our house and about 500m from the school its still a bit scarey.

Hayden started Kanga Cricket this Saturday and had lots of fun. They played Glenelg Primary School although they didn't win Hayden said he had fun and that's all that mattered. 'Good on ya Hayden - that's what sport is all about'

Can't believe this Friday coming Patrick will be 12weeks old. Time has absolutely flown by. Plus he is finally gaining suitable weight last week was 200g compared to the previous fortnight was only 60g in that 2 week period. So he is chunkying up will put up a piccie soon of him.

Vic Bushfires Support

It has been just overwhelming to see what has been happening over in Victoria with the bushfires and the devistation of its effects. Its been wonderful to see on the otherhand how all Australians have pulled together to help out in a variety of ways. No matter what the world is going through right now financially most of us see it that Hey Victoria needs us and we'll just dig that little deeper just to help contribute to the rebuilding of peoples lives who have lost so much.

I have family too over there that are close to the fires but they are no longer in direct threat. To which I hope stays that way for them.

I'm thinking that maybe my Joey Scouts ( 6yrs - 8yrs ) can do something to help.
They will be doing a bike hike south of Adelaide for an hour or so. Maybe 3kms. We will have families and friends sponsoring the joey scouts ride to then donate to the Vic Bushfires. We'd like to raise as much money as we can so if there is anyone that would like to sponsor the Joey Scouts Bike Hike to Help Vic Bushfires do email me to find out where to send donation.

Our son, Hayden will be one of 30 joeys taking part in this ride to help raise money.

I am sad at the magnitude of life lost in these fires and what people have lost words cannot describe the heartache they must be feeling. I just hope they all know that all our hearts are open across Australia for them.

Goodness Me this heat is aweful. 43 today 42 tomorrow and it continues for most of the week.
Closed up the house keep it dark.
Hayden started school today he was very excited about it. Year 2 gosh time has gone so fast and by the end of this year Mitch will start school too.
Mitch goes to kindy tomorrow and can't wait but its going to be so hot.
I hope we don't get any black outs that would be just aweful.

A New Look

Thought it was time for a bit of a change to my blog. I think it looks good. I just love what I can do with publisher. Since Jr isn't interested in sleeping I thought I'd make some changes. I don't think he's going to go to bed any time soon. I have these two beady little eyes looking back at me with only the light of the computer and the TV on.

Been experimenting with making my own cards and using digital software for textures and backgrounds. Sort of incorporating digital scrapbooking into cardmaking and then printing off these as photos.
This is my first card and yes it is Patrick in all the photos.
I will put some more up once I've done them. So I'm sort of expanding my horizons in cardmaking and invitation making business now in what I can now do.
Cardmaking and Invitations are through my business of Bubs & Kisses.
Will make some wedding ones up too soon.

Summer Days

Another warm day today of 33 degrees. So just chillin` with my boys.

Patrick had his 8 week immunisations today. Poor little guy didn't like that much but he is ok sleeping for now. I can't believe how quickly time is going by. I remember when I got down to the last 3 weeks and they were so slow and now they whisk by and he is almost 8weeks ( well Friday he will be 8 weeks ). I don't see my midwife anymore but she saw me every week upto 6 weeks. Patrick is gaining weight and I'm so proud of that. He is now 5.14kg and 60cms in length. This time around I endeavour to exclusively BF Patrick and its going so well. In comparison to the other 2 boys I couldn't do it as long or exclusively so pretty proud this time. His face is changing every week and starting to fill out and looking more and more like Hayden.

Well this weekend we are heading off to the beach to celebrate Australia Day with Family and Friends so it should be great. We always have a game of cricket and everyone participates. The kids play cricket with us and build sandcastles and do some swimming. Its always a great day. We pack a picnic lunch and have it there.

I'm looking forward to school starting as Hayden starts year 2 and Mitch is back to Kindy. Gives me some time at home with Patrick by myself. The only thing is that Sam will be away for a week when school starts as he has to go to Coober Pedy for work again. I hate it when he is away. Will be a test by myself with the 3 boys and juggling school & kindy etc....

Will start going to a new playgroup with my sister in law who has taken over running it. So that should be good and help me get out of the house.

Been thinking of taking Mitch back to swimming to learn again but will see.

Been doing a bit of scrapping with mum for my sister's Mother in law who turns 50 for her birthday. A big job doing an album that's about 30 pages about her life.

Look forward to getting back into scrapping as the mojo is coming back and have been thinking about what I'd like to scrap. Especially my new little boy.

Yes a bit tired but going ok so far.

Feeding well although 2hrly but has a 4hr block at night. Been so busy and just have to slow down for Patrick as he doesn't like being pushed around from pillar to post. And with Christmas coming up its just mayhem with so much to do and organise. But we are getting there.

I took a picture on my phone of him today and he smiled such a lovely smile. Pure fluke. But sent it on to a few family members. He is starting to look a lot like Hayden now. Can only hope the personality follows too don't think I need another Mitchell as much as I dearly love Mitch, he has a killer attitude. Otherwise I'm feeling good and Sam helping with a lot of things which makes it easier.

Anyway I'd better get back to things that I need to get done before Jr wakes for next feed.

Thankyou to Carolyn my Midwife ( although wasn't able to be there for the birth) for your support, care and encouragement throughout my pregnancy and postnatally.

And for allowing me to return to the Birth Centre after the Birth.

This pregnancy, labour and birth combined with the support from both Midwives and Doula that this has been the best experience and proud of myself for such an achievement in comparison to the previous pregnancies and the intervention associated with them.

Its been rather overwhelming but wouldn't change it for the world.

to bring the baby bag with the rush of things that morning.

Beyond Time!

Well my EDD has been and gone it was yesterday - 22 November.

This is my last picture that I took when I was about 38 weeks. I know I'm big but its all Baby. So you can probably understand that I am very over being pregnant and would just love to meet my little man.

Been trying to keep myself occupied with scrapping and all kinds of things like movies etc... but just not working well there either. But have finished my Secret Santa gift for a friend at Scrap with V just waiting for it to be posted soon.

DH and a friend are painting the nursery today in a mint green which will look lovely when its finished cant wait till its finished. Will take photos when its all done and the furniture is back in it. Everything is all green, yellow and pale blue. All frogs and turtles theme.

Special Gift

Another friend of mine is going to have a baby next week on Tuesday so I've made her a special gift which I'll give to her today when I see her at School when she goes to pick up her son Lachie. ( her son and my son are in same year level and Joey Scouts together ).

Its got 36 huggies nappies all rolled up ( the size of the diametre of the gift is like a party sized pizza ) socks, 5 singlets, nappybags, GAIA baby bathing products the little ones there is about 5, something for mum - mango and sheabutter - handcream, moisturiser and shower gel. Choccies for the mum - gold coins, a hand knitted yellow cardigan, a little soft Russ toy reindeer that says baby's 1st xmas. Large cream towel and matching face washer and a handmade card.

I still make these just have slowed down a bit due to my own impeding birth of my bubs. So after that its back to business as usual.

Last Minute Nesting

Well I've been a little busy today fixing the last bits of the nursery setting it up and clearing out any other boxes thats been put in there. Its all pastels green, blue, yellow and white.
Frogs and turtles looks really cool.
Still want to get a really nice cot blanket in green the satin edge ones. And will get some curtains for the room too.

Got my suitcase finally sorted out and finished so I'm living out of a suitcase as I only have so much maternity clothes.

Getting a few contractions gearing upto the real thing so just waiting for the real thing.

Well things aren't too far away now. Especially after yesterdays alarm bells. But all is ok. Bubs is now partly engaged and midwife thinks I'll go before my due date.
So maybe within the next two weeks.

Finished some CJ's for SWV got 2 left to do. Will probably start making something special for my secret santa from there too. As it wont matter who it is.
Things going slowly by at home just a waiting game.

I'll promise to put some photos up here when bubs is born.

5 Weeks and Counting....

Well its getting closer with only 5 weeks to go. I'm a lady of leisure now and no longer work on Mondays with Aust Post. So trying to relax at home. Picture of me approx 34weeks.

Still haven't narrowed down any names but hope to do it soon.

Tuesday was DH's and my Wedding Anniversary 8 yrs now and been together 5yrs before that. We went out for a nice dinner. DH put a lovely card on the table for me to see in the morning. So I made him a nice picture of us on our wedding day. Just trying to scrapbook again and rebuild motivation, enthusiasm and creativity which all have been lacking for some time now. This is what I made DH.

Also made something for my friend Ness just have to send it off now. Hope she likes it. Its pink and has Butterflies on it. Enjoying Off the Page things. But I like doing things in my own time at the moment as the mood takes me since being so close now till bubs arrives.

Pregnancy that is. 6 weeks 3 days left to go. And feeling unwell. Immune system down a bit as body busy growing bubs. Bubs moving a lot still. If bubs comes around 1st nov thats fine by me that's 37 weeks then. Bring it on.

At least my boys are being good today and helping me snce not well today. Very proud of them with very little arguements.

Sorry I've been away from my blog for so long. Lots going on and too much to explain here. But back on the right track now. I'm 33 weeks at the moment and the count down is on.

I've lost my mojo for scrapping but hopefully the Circle Journals that I have to do can inspire me back into it.

Had a card class to teach on Sunday 28th went very well. Have some xmas card classes coming up soon too. So I have a few people booking in already for that.

Have my bestfriend coming over with her family tomorrow for a few days as they moved to Mt Gambier in July. Miss them so much.

Mitch turns 4 on Thursday and having a low key birthday party for him on Sunday. Going to try and make a Lightening McQueen cake for him.

I have left my DT position at SWV as much as I miss it so much is happening right now and being pregnant and DH being away from work its been a bit much to keep up with. So I thought I'd bow out gracefully. So I'm not interested in any DT positions for awhile. Maybe once I get my routine back in order again sometime next year I might just do something like low key and maybe just Guest DT stuff. But I don't know just yet.

Been offered a scrap teaching position at a new scrap shop but have declined for obvious reasons with being pregnant but maybe later next year depending how the bubs is doing.

Haven't done any classes with Rrip - It either since the accident but not sure where I'm at just yet might go back later next year.

Got most of the baby's nursery ready, got baby clothes coming out my ears now. But it all looks good in there now.

Hayden still doing Joey Scouts and loving it. Mitch has started pre-entry Kindy and next term starts full kindy so will be going 2 full days a week instead of 4 half days. So that's good.

Helps me out especially when the baby comes and so I don't break up bubs sleep patterns.

Saw my good friend Kerry Murray today. Was great to catch up and see her again. Been a while.

Congratulations Kerry on your teaching spot at Scrapbook Station.

Well I feel huge and so over being pregnant so hoping the weeks fly by quickly.

And I will try to update my blog more often and I will put more sketches, layouts, cards etc... up as soon as I'm able and when the motivation has returned.

Boy!!!

Not that it matters as I love him just the same. But a little surprised.

So now I can paint the room and get boy stuff and start to seriously think of names.

Pink will be repressed and just have to wait and see when my sister has a baby if its a girl or boy.

Failing that I'm sure I'll get a granddaughter down the track.

But that's ok, I love my boys and they love me.

Ups and Downs

Been a lot going on of late so I'm sorry for the lack of updates.
Mitch hasn't been well as his Asthma is playing up quite a bit and have been borderline of going into hospital if things don't turn around and start improving for him. So I've had a lot of wakeful nights and him being in my room on a camp stretcher next to me so I can help him and hear him if any problems.

Hayden has had ear problems over the last week too but is coming good now.

Going for a 3D gender scan today so hopefully we will now know for sure if we are having a boy or a girl. Since the previous Sonographer was not helpful and was confusing us by telling us girl than boy - just wished she'd said she didn't know and left it at that.

Missing DH as he is away for 2 weeks at Coober Pedy for work. Mitch doesn't understand where Daddy is and wants him home and cries. They normally have breakfast together in the mornings before he goes to work. Hayden is ok about it.

Just want things back to normal again. So much going on at the one time I feel snowed under and a bit stressed.

Hopefully the next time I post will be with better news and things picking up again.

I'm Back from QLD

Well I'm back from my weekend away with Mum.

Went to a Retreat in QLD although it was rather wet and windy we stayed indoors and scrapped with 23 others. Many new and old friends. It was just great to meet everyone.

I've done 3 LO's and a Double LO. I will put them up here soon.

Some of the girls there are a laugh a minute.

Although they will do another Retreat next year, I wont go next year as the new bubs will only be small. I may go the following year depends on how things are. May bring the family with me, don't know yet. Below the girls at the Retreat.

As you can see me 2nd in on the right have very much the preggo belly on me. 15 weeks on Sunday but since this is my 3rd I've popped out a lot more and I still have the bloated feeling so I still feel very much inflated. Will find out the sex of bubs in 31 days. So I look forward to that.

Scrappin Around

I'm so excited about the Scrap With V Retreat in Qld coming this weekend. In the last few weeks my health was up and down so I am glad I'm getting better so I can go. It will be a great relaxing time to spend with friends that I've made online. It's a shame for those that are unable to make it as its going to be an awesome time.

I've kick started my cardmaking again combined with stamping and really enjoying it again as its just relaxing. I should take more pictures of my cards. Haven't scrapped for a few months and I'm slowly getting into the mood to do it again. I plan to do a Stampin Up workshop there which will incorporate various techniques of stamping and making 3 cards and a gift box so it should be great fun.

I've been getting a lot of comments on the sketches I've put up so I'll put up some more.

Not all of them are mine only some are. Others are from friends or sketches from sites I find very inspiring and really get you out of the comfort zone to try something different. Here are 2 Layout Sketches.

And here are two Card Sketches. The good thing about sketches is they can be used for inspiration for both paper and digital scrapping.

A lot of my inspiration comes from sketches and then I usually put my own twist on it, something different. At the moment I really enjoy opals using them on chipboard and stamping onto them to make a texture imprint on them. Very Effective.

Catching Up!

Yay I'm 13 weeks and 2 days and so glad that morning sickness is easing off. But a jolly cold has knocked me for a six. I'm getting a little excited now and have my NTscan this Thursday. And my Gender scan on 4th July. I will be in full scale baby prep after that. Thinking of how I can do the room up to get it ready. The boys are getting excited and impatient as when I go for scans at the hospital they think I'll be taking home the baby then.

We are also getting ready for our Big Birthday 30th Bash at our place. DH and I turn 30 a month apart so thought we'd combine it. So that should be good. I hope I'm better by then. Bugger about the alcohol for me, but that's ok I'm sure I'll survive without.

Scrap with V Retreat is coming up in less than 2 weeks so I'm excited about that too. So again I hope I'm better as I hate being so sick. But maybe its the relaxation I need right now. Its in Qld so its going to be a blast. I'm doing a Stampin Up! Class there too so I am just looking forward to it all right now. Mum is coming with me this time as last time she did all the catering in Adelaide and was exhausted after it. So this time she will come and relax with me and have fun too.

Boys have been fairly good. Mitch's Asthma is starting to play up as it gets colder but is doing alright. Hayden is loving school as usual and has improved a lot with his reading. Mitch is begging to go to Kindy and can't wait. He'll start next term.

Hayden is loving Joey Scouts aswell - tomorrow they are doing a night hike around the hall so he'll like that.

Card Making Classes

I’m looking at organising a card class in early June.
I normally do on weekends to make it easier on most and also gives you more time creating.
I will let you know dates and times very soon just waiting for the location to give me the ok.

Classes vary depending what the class is about re – cards, Scrapbooking and the materials used.
First class will consist of making 3 cards and a little gift. All of which you make and take home with you.
In this class you’ll be learning a few techniques to get you started.
After the class there will be an opportunity to order any materials you’d like to start you on your way.
There will be a fee of $15 which will cover the materials used and the hire of the location.
Due to the popularity of these classes I’ve had to move location from my own home to a larger location.
I will let you know when the date is set.

And Bubs makes 3

Few weeks ago I found out that I'm pregnant. DH & I are pretty thrilled we had been trying for a while. Would love a girl but a boy is fine too as long as either is healthy that's all that matters.

Have my first scan on Tuesday. Approx due date is 24th November.

Morning Sickness has been pretty horrible and been trying to munch on whatever I can just to get this sickness to go away. Last time with Mitch I had Hyperemesis - not very nice thing to have. And it can be very debilitating. On Tuesday I'll be 7 weeks and 2 days so hoping to see the little one and a heartbeat too.

So this has put me behind in a lot of things with this morning sickness but will hopefully try to catch up when I can and feel better. Sense of smell is amazing - and sometimes nauseous.

So that's what is new around here.

Why Women are Crabby

We started to 'bud' in our blouses at 9 or 10 years old only to find that anything that came in contact with those tender, blooming buds hurt so bad it brought us to tears. So came the ridiculously uncomfortable training bra contraption that the boys in school would snap until we had calluses on our backs.
Next, we get our periods in our early to mid-teens (or sooner). Along with those budding boobs, we bloated, we cramped, we got the hormone crankies, had to wear little mattresses between our legs or insert tubular, packed cotton rods in places we didn't even know we had.
Our next little rite of passage was having sex for the first time which was about as much fun as having a ramrod push your uterus through your nostrils (IF he did it right and didn't end up with his little cart before his horse), leaving us to wonder what all the fuss was about.
Then it was off to Motherhood where we learned to live on dry crackers and water for a few months so we didn't spend the entire day leaning over Brother John . Of course, amazing creatures that we are (and we are), we learned to live with the growing little angels inside us steadily kicking our innards night and day making us wonder if we were preparing to have Rosemary's Baby.
Our once flat bellies looked like we swallowed a whole watermelon and we pee'd our pants every time we sneezed. When the big moment arrived, the dam in our blessed Nether Regions invariably burst right in the middle of the mall and we had to waddle, with our big cartoon feet, moaning in pain all the way to the ER.

Then it was huff and puff and beg to die while theOB ? says, 'Please stop screaming, Mrs. Hearmeroar . Calm down and push. 'Just one more good push' (more like 10), warranting a strong, well-deserved impulse to punch the
%$#*@*#!* hubby and doctor square in the nose for making us cram a wiggling, mushroom-headed 10 pound bowling ball through a keyhole.
After that, it was time to raise those angels only to find that when all that 'cute' wears off, the beautiful little darlings morphed into walking, jabbering, wet, gooey, snot-blowing, life-sucking little poop machines.

Then come their 'Teen Years.' Need I say more?

When the kids are almost grown, we women hit our voracious sexual prime in our early 40's - while hubby had his somewhere around his 18th birthday.
So we progress into the grand finale: 'The Menopause,' the Grandmother of all womanhood. It's either take HRT and chance cancer in those now seasoned 'buds' or the aforementioned Nether Regions, or, sweat like a hog in July, wash your sheets and pillowcases daily and bite the head off anything that moves.
Now, you ask WHY women seem to be more spiteful than men, when men get off so easy, INCLUDING the icing o n life's cake: Being able to pee in the woods without soaking their socks...
So, while I love being a woman, 'Womanhood' would make the Great Gandhi a tad crabby. You think women are the 'weaker sex?' Yeah right. Bite me.

Sorry to those that normally read my blog. So many things have been happening. Had a friend of the family that was shot. So its been a bit difficult to deal with. I myself thought I'd be ok. But now and then it really hits me.

Many changes are happening here at SWV and so we are looking for Design Team Members to join our team. All current DT members will remain DT until announcement is made on 23rd February. We’re looking for Design Team Members until 31st December 2008. So if you are interested keep reading….. The DT spots will last for 10 months and the term will commence on 24th February 2007. During your term you’ll be sent DT kits to Design Page Layouts with full colour instructions for the online shop. Also you may be required to do additional things as they come up. You will have your work featured in the online shop in the class kits section. You will be required to be active on the Scrap with V Forum and Gallery and participate in Cyber Crops. You will receive DT discount on anything you purchase from the shop during your time as a DT member. Still interested? Things have been a bit harroring of late and did not have a good week. We sad news of my own and then hearing about Heath Ledger just broke my heart even more.

I respected you so much, your work and movies were just the tip of the iceberg for you. My heart goes out to your family, Michelle, Matilda and your close friends. I'll miss your smile and seeing your face. You left too young and I would do anything to bring you back. You've left such an impressionable impact on the hollywood community that so many spoke highly of you. I am really sad to hear you've left but know that Australia couldn't be more proud about you for your accomplishments. You wowed us all. We'll think of you always and know that the same light you have now shines in your daughter. RIP Health you can sleep now. mwah xxx

Been watching his tribute on TV and watched "A Knight's Tale " I saw "The Patriot" last week sometime. He has a beautiful smile that melts your heart but his passing has brought my heart sorrow.

With 2 sad news this week has been a bit much for me so I've backed off a lot of things.

So I am sorry I haven't updated my blog for a while.

As I grieve with my own issues of the week I'll try to get through it and become the bubbly self again in time.

Sorry I've been away and either me not well or my boys not well. Been a vicious cycle there.

Been busy with Bubs & Kisses too.

And I am looking at improving my health too this year and have already started to lose some weight. I want to be able to be more active with the kids and just be able to look better with a new healthy lifestyle. Going through website called Spark people which is great.

Hoping to TTC no.3 sometime this year so I want to be in a healthier frame of mind for that too.

Looking at getting back into some more scrapping as I haven't done much due to being ill.

Lol!

Well the festive season is just around the corner.

I am slowly getting myself organised, at least I have ordered the Turkey Roll and ham now.

Lots been going on. Mitch is back to his normal self and is all clear of whatever he had before.

The kids are getting excited as Christmas approaches.

So funny last year we went to the Magic Cave and saw Santa there.

Then later we went into another shop and saw Santa again. He beckoned us over but Hayden piped up " We saw you already". I laughed what answer to give. And was interested to here what he was going to say in response to that.

To which he said he has ducked out for a break and came over to this shop to see some other kids, and that he remembers seeing the boys a bit earlier. But the boys just stood and chattered to Santa about toys they liked. They didn't sit on his lap as they had already done this.

But it was just so funny.

Some Hope

It has been a pretty full on couple of weeks even perhaps a few months now. But I see some hope!
Mitch is beginning to become his old self again with improvement of his eating as I'd say he lost a kg or 2 while sick. Hayden had croop as well but is now fine. I hope this is it for a while then I can turn back to myself to get better as I've had to put this aside to be with the boys to get them better first.

And just a little note to 2 special friends of mine. To keep your chin up there is some HOPE coming its just hard to see it sometimes but it will.

Mitch in Hospital Again today.

News:
Well after a long day at the hospital again.
Mitch had another blood test and they left the IV lock on just incase they needed it again saves having to poke him again. They are doing 5 tests pretty much covering everything.
We waited around for over an hour for 2 of the tests to which last time came back at a count of 51 which isn't good and this time came back as a 1 which is good. So these first 2 tests have come back clear.
The 3 we are to wait till Friday to see if they develop coultures. So I am so crossing my fingers that they come back clear.

So I am sorry if I have been a little stressed and worried. That's why I haven't been around very much. But once Mitch is out of the woods and has a green light I will come back at full force again and post more.

Never Rains it Pours!

Well I've just heard from FMC last night that our dear Mitch's blood and urine tests have come back positive for some sort of bug in his blood. Have no idea what yet and we are to go back into the hospital today to do some more tests. Feels a bit scarey to me.
And Hayden has had Croop for the last few days so its been pretty full on at the moment. I have put aside my health issues to make sure my boys get what they need to get better.

So due this I have resigned from my DT position with Meant to Be. I was sad to do that but my family needs me. And I know there are other places out there in the future when things calm down again.

So I am sorry I haven't updated my blog for a while as it is due to my kids being sick for some time.

Funny Stuff

Hayden makes me laugh sometimes.
The other day he told me he was growning up. I asked him how he knew this. Now Hayden with a huge smile replies " Well Mum you see I have hair on my arms and legs now". I smiled at DH and thought you have a long way still to go but will probably be the last time you mention you have hair growning. lol!

But Hayden is just so cute with what he says.

Geisha Scrapping Star Album / Lantern

Total Exhaustion

These last 48hours have been worrying, scared, teary and tiring. Mitch hadn't been feeling well Thursday night. He was fine during the day. He refused dinner didn't want to drink. Had a temp of 38.8 degrees so I wip out the panadol medicine to calm him down and his temp. Giving panadol children's medicine through a syring in not the easiest thing when they refuse to take it. As Mitch wont take it in a medicine cup or spoon. But perservere with the medication to get it into him. With luke warm water I wet face washers and slowly washed his face. I know its hard to fight him as he needs to be cooled slowly as took quickly or too cold can shock his system.

4hrs later his temp had climbed to 39 degrees, panadol may just holding it steady. I gave him some panadol and drink to wash it down. He guzzled too quick and it all came straight back up. DH said give him some more as he just threw it up. I said no as I don't know how much he got and don't want to OD him. I put the medicine away for now hoping that he got some.

He cuddled in our bed and DH slept in Mitch's bed. He was still burning up. His temp dropped a little after awhile but only to 38.3 I kept on dabbing his face with the face washer as much as I could till I fell asleep curled up with him.

Morning he seemed ok for a little while. But temp had gone back up to 39. Gave him some panadol and made an appointment for the GP. Poor Mitch started having very painful stomach cramps. Worse than what he ever had with Gastro up came the medicine again. He couldn't hold onto any liquid. Mean while Hayden was getting stressed because Mitch was so sick and because we'd miss out on taking him to school. I rang Mum who came over after her Doc's appointment picked up Hayden and took him to school for me.

Took Mitch to GP's put him in his big 3 wheel pram as he was too heavy for me to hold him. And he just lay there saying "I love you Mummy".

Once in the Doc checked him out, he was dehydrated and temp had crept upto 40.6 degrees. She quickly wrote me a note and rang the hospital to tell them I was on my way.

Took him straight in the ED and they took him through imediately. put him on hydralite but he refused. Tried him on apple juice and water and that seemed to stay down but eventually he started to refuse that too. They quished and prodded through 2 staffing shifts so repeating everything became tiresome. Finally they decided after no luck with fluid they gave him an IV drip to rehydrate him and take some blood and urine samples. They said its not Gastro but possibly a Blood infection or pneumococcal ( but Mitch had his vaccinations for pneumococcal - but it doesn't cover all 90 strands ). At this point I did not know the actual seriousness of either of these 2 conditions till we got home today. But the Docs of FMC covered every base they could. Chest xray and blood tests in case of pneumonia to which he had 3 months ago but this one came back clear. Both of these conditions can come from pneumonia. So it was kinda scarey. His big sad eyes his screams of being poked and prodded and holding my hand for dear life really tore at my heart. I just held him close and stroked his face till he went to sleep.

I stayed in over night at hospital with him. As I could never bring myself to leave him as it was hard enough to leave the room while he was awake as he would fret that I wouldn't come back.

Mitch had 4 big doses of antibotics to back off whatever he had and would fight off both the conditions aswell. Over night Mitch's temp came down below 37 degrees and stayed with the continual use of panadol to keep bringing it down. To now not needing it now.

He spoke the Hayden on the phone last night and Hayden told him he loved and missed him and to get better soon. Mitch said thankyou. It was so beautiful. Then this morning DH comes in with Hayden and the boys had such a huge hug for each other and Hayden sat on Mitch's bed and did some colouring in with him.

Its just amazing to see the close bond they have with each other. Hayden dotes on Mitchell ( lol most of the time ) and misses him terribly and worries greatly about Mitch when he is sick. So much so it can and has previously affected him at school.

Mitchell depends on Hayden for companionship and is shy without Hayden around sometimes. He misses Hayden while he is at school too.

I am just thankful and blessed that whatever whichever condition Mitch had I hope that its over now. That he becomes my lil' man again. And that it didn't develop too seriously as both of these conditions can be deadly.

I shed a little tear of thankfulness that I have my lil' man that he responded well to the medication and is on the mend but may take some time. I am thankful for my friends who rally behind me in thought and love over great distances that say a little prayer for me & Mitch. Who are there caring about me and my family. It helps you be that little bit stronger when you need to be.

Thankyou to all who emailed, phoned, texted, posted messages to me sending their wishes.

It has been a long 48 hours and I just held Mitch close tonight before bed and told him that I loved him so much for being so brave and that I was so proud of him. He smiled and said thankyou Mummy, don't be sad. I love you too!.

Mitch is 3 Today

Well tonight Mitch had an absolute ball of fun. This is his nice stash of Lightning McQueen pressies etc.... He totally loves it. He also got a really nice camp sleeping bag -5 and a camp stretcher of his own too. A very lucky and spoilt boy.

Well my boy Mitch is now 3 today. My he has grown so fast, time just flies past. We are just having a close Friends and Family tonight for a little birthday. Mitch has gone nuts on Lightning McQueen stuff and will be so estatic tonight with his goodies.

He has currently gone off with my Sister Tanya and her husband Mark to the Zoo with the kids. They were originally going to go to Greenhills but then decided the Zoo. That's ok I was going to plan a trip there but maybe next year or we'll try some other place to go too.

So they took a train in to the city and then took the Popeye boat around to the Zoo entrance.

I was very touched that my sister wanted to do this with the boys. I hope they all have a great time.
